As a hardworking single mother, Deborah struggled to grow the food her family needed. Today, Deborah is the first farmer in Chigonthi who is able to irrigate her crops easily with a lift pump.

This year, she fed and provided for her family with her crop of maize, beans, and onions. With tools and training, Deborah grows more food, has time to work and care for her children, and earns more money to pay for education and medical care.
