Dear Friend,
Greetings from Malawi, the Warm Heart of Africa!
I would like to personally thank you for your visit! There is currently a food emergency in our country, and your concern means the world to us.
Thank you for your kindness. I feel honored to be part of the Africa Windmill Project community with you. God has much in store for all of us.
With gratitude,
Gibozi Mphanzi, Africa Windmill Project Director
THE MISSION
The mission of Africa Windmill Project is to End the Hunger Season and establish food security in every season.
“It is possible to really end hunger in Malawi.”
The process starts with empowering individual rural farmers with necessary knowledge, skills, and tools they need to grow food through every season - not just once per year.
With irrigation tools and training, entire villages are food secure for the first time, proving that food security is possible in Malawi. It is also sustainable, and impacts communities today and future generations.

THE NEED
The World Food Programme has declared emergency levels of hunger in Malawi.
“This hunger crisis is on a scale we’ve not seen before.”
“With temperatures rising at twice the global average and most of its food produced by subsistence farmers entirely dependent on increasingly unreliable rains, southern Africa has had just one normal growing season in the last five years. In many places, this season’s rains have again arrived late, and experts forecast continuing hot and dry weather in the coming months, presaging yet another poor harvest.”

YOUR IMPACT
Even as the “hunger” season deepens across Malawi, farmers in our program are experiencing record harvests.
“Hunger is no longer a visitor to our village.”
“Since starting with Africa Windmill Project, my life has never been the same. This is the best maize crop in recent years,” says Mr. Chiweza, a farmer in Suntche village.
